Age of Ultron’s Badass Opening Scene Leaked Way before Release
[MILD SPOILERS for Avengers: Age of Ultron ahead.]
Move over Ultron and Surtur, there is a new villain in town and his name is Baron von Strucker. Seen as the credits came to an end in The Winter Soldier, the German baddie got his clutches on Loki’s magical staff during the first installment of the Avengers. Needless to say, you do NOT want to face this man in a dark alley, or anywhere for that matter, really. Even though the movie has since been released, the badass leaked opening scene hinting at a battle between the villain and Earth’s mightiest heroes had already given fans a lot to talk about.
The fact that Strucker also controls Scarlet Witch and Quick Silver (who, incidentally, are Magneto’s kids!) does not help our heroes any either. Needless to say Age of Ultron will dominate the waves and forums for months. It hit theatres on May 22nd and is still going strong. However, the leaked opening scene may have had a hand in that hype.
The opening scene description making the rounds of social media websites and movie forums goes something like this. The scene opens with Tony Stark operating his Quinjet with the rest of the Avengers on board. They are obviously returning from a battle as the moaning Renner (Hawkeye) rolls on a table groaning in agony. As the team starts chatting with one another, it becomes increasingly apparent that said injuries came about due to one of The Hulk’s infamous rampages during battle in the fortress against the former Nazi officer.
Natasha (Black Widow) asks Thor what transpired to make Hawkeye the painful mess he was. The Norse God lights up and gives a full and very enthusiastic account of how the hulking green giant unleashed a big ol’ can of whoop ass on all and sundry, including his fellow teammates. Needless to say, Bruce Banner (The Hulk) turns pale and is quite shaken, despite Black Widow’s attempt to reassure him of his usefulness (which also backfires).
Anyway, we can easily take away a couple of things from the abovementioned details. One, Hulk’s apparent lack of chemistry with the rest of his teammates and two, the increasing chemistry between his gentler alter ego Bruce Banner and Natasha. Additionally, it also means that Tony Stark, the unofficial co-captain of the Avengers, has no choice but to make up the gap left by Hawkeye by turning to his notorious Ultron program.
Didn’t turn out too well for them, did it?
